In my opinion, I have always watched the Opening on NBC (Today Show) but it drove me crazy today when they kept "split-screening" with commercials where the ads were larger than the tiny screen for the Athletes. I put it on Mute and only watched the tiny screen so defeated the purpose of the Ads if everyone else did the same thing. I watch to see the different Countries, their lovely Uniforms, and the Athletes themselves. Put the Ad full-screen if you have to show one but it is insulting for the Countries that you think are not important enough to show them. I eventually turned the TV off ...didn't get to see the USA team. Biggest disappointment ever. Also the music was so loud it was hard to hear Savannah and the other announce. I wish I had watched one of the other Channels as maybe they did not do that.
