Thus is the 2nd worst Ghibli movie (Earthsea being the worst still). I saw several plot themes between this movie and some previous films and works he has done, but the movie itself is all over the place. This movie was abnormally super slow fpr a ghibli film in the beginning-- more slow than the start of The Secret World if Arietty and The Wind Rises combined. And after the first half being super slow it becomes so chaotic its difficult to discern how we go from one setting to thr next and keeping track or story plot. The main character was hard to emphasize with because we can't understand why he is making any decisions that he makes. I was so... underwhelmed.
