There was supposed to be sequels. COVID is how it ends.

Paul Hollywood seems to know his craft and sometimes his co-chef. But the weird goons, Lurch (Noel Fielding) and Uncle Fester (Matt Lucas) who flounce around, annoying the contestants, are a real turn-off. Are they on work-release from a prison for the criminally insane? I had hoped that when the repulsive Mel and Sue were canned they would have been replaced by a block of rotting wood and a dirty rock- much funnier. But the producer looked beneath the wood and rock and gave us these two. Are there no comedians in England who can perform without making one want to retch? And why is this in a non-air-conditioned tent?

This movie is uniintentionally hilarious! A cornpone South Carolina football coach goes to see his suicidal rich poet sister hospitalized in the upper East side and meets her Jewish shrink Barbra Streisand and her fey master violinist son, teaching him how to play football by wrestling with him one on one in Central Park - with the boy in full pads and game uniform. His wife calls and he dumps the shrink, but to assuage the Karmic offense he decides to call the I-26 overpass over the Ashley River "Lowenstein" every time he goes into Charleston from his suburb.
