Don’t know what people are whining about, I loved this movie. They acknowledge the moral dilemma abs of you were J Law’s character you still had a chance to go back to sleep. An all time favourite.

Probably my favourite film that year and one of my favourite action fantasy films of recent years actually. Great storyline, fidelity to the original manga yet made it work for western audiences. Loved it!

Did not deserve the Oscar buzz. Painfully slow pace and underdeveloped characters (especially Kirsten Dunst’s) left me feeling totally underwhelmed. Also hated the ending, came out of nowhere and didn’t fit in with the story.

Anyone who doesn’t love this movie is dead inside. Really nice to see a soulful Disney movie starring boy characters. Handles themes of bereavement, brotherly bonds, masculinity, and self esteem with humour and heart. LOVE

The books were my absolute favourite as a child. This TV series is not far too off, much more than the movie attempt from 10 years ago. Season 2 really picks up. My main criticism perhaps is the slightly lacklustre performance from Daphe Keen, the Daemon voice actors abs the witches, but again she is much much better than the previous movie. Harsh but Lyra is the heart of the story and she is meant to be a fiery passionate girl, not nonchalant or monotone. Graphics, music and the worlds are AMAZING. Overall great job, season 2 has me hooked!

What the mushu was that movie?? A lifeless, overly serious take on the untouchable animated original. Even if they wanted to go for a grown up version of the movie, why would you write such a laughable storyline?! It was so bad it was almost a parody. One of the worst endings I have seen and honestly insulting to the legacy of Mulan. Yifei was wooden, and in fact everyone was terrible in it. This should be combined the light hearted ness of the musical with the fighting and moving story of a woman trying to take her place in a man’s world. Only good things about this film were the cinematography and costumes. Awful, shame on you Niki Caro!
