FULL SERIES REVIEW + SPOILER FREE*
Jason Bateman delivers an amazing performance and really draws you into the mystery surrounding the murders in the show. As the investigation goes on, the surrounding characters become very memorable and worth the investment of time that the show puts in. Ben Mendelsohn's character really grows and his battle with grief is amazing to watch. However, the story drags on too long about halfway when the investigation begins to piece together. The crimes seem to repeat themselves in a dull way, that made me think "just get to the conclusion, I get how this works already". The end wraps itself up conclusively, but there are no revelations about the villain, that I think the audience deserves to know.
In conclusion:
Great startup and beginning. Story, villain characters, concept, are very well crafted. After about 5 episodes though it slows down immensely. Weak conclusion and climax to the series.
3.5/5
