Scatterbrained plot with a sledgehammer of a message. This movie could have been great but instead it used a meandering plot with the least subtle ending.

Ok, so the book is complicated and the mini series didn't age well. The first chapter of this movie was awesome and I've waited ever since it's release for this second chapter. I went in anticipation of being scared. Thirty minutes into the film it became obvious that although Skarsguard makes an excellent, psychotic and at times endearing Pennywise, the CGI just got in the way. At times I felt like it was cheesed up to make it less scary on purpose. The acting was great as were some of the scenes were also but the story had holes in the plot and just felt rushed. This movie had SO much potential to be absolutely terrifying and I think it would've been been without the lazy at times over the top CGI.

Overly parodied unending racial stereotype jokes aside, my biggest issue was with Ezra. A less than mediocre white dude w a podcast, who doesn't seem to have the ability to listen and who doesn't really grow throughout the movie. Mike Epps had the best character in my opinion. The rest was overly cringy and tiring.
