You know how Marvel was at the top of the movie food chain for a while? They could literally do no wrong. But then after Endgame, they bit off way more then they could chew and imploded inexplicably? How wonderful development turned into wayyy too many plotlines, and because everything was shocking, nothing was shocking anymore?
Sarah J. Mass is Marvel.
I’m too lazy to write a full review on everything that annoyed me, but I’ll pick a few off the (as I keep considering it) ever expanding list.
1. How in the HELL is there gonna be the ultimate teaser of teasers at the end of ahosab, and then that crossover is hardly used at all??? Rhysand himself was on like, fifteen pages of this 830 page book. What. The. F***.
2. This book felt like a bomb going off. Like, thousands of unrefined bits of storyline flying everywhere with no rhyme or reason. No one could accuse this book of being boring. Butttt…
3. Whereas in the first two CC books, there were twists at every turn, and all the characters truly felt purposeful and dynamic, these characters felt stagnant and aimless. Aside from wanting to get rid of the Asteri. But that’s a given.
This is truly the most disappointment I have ever felt upon finishing a Mass book. 😵💫
