This film does a good job of revealing Anthony Bourdain’s demons. It also reveals the pain those who loved him experienced. But it glosses over what may have pushed him over the edge. In the end I found myself thinking that Bourdain would have been happier if he had moved to Vietnam, like his friend did, and lived a simple life. The defaced poster reveal was fantastic, but I wanted the producers to include information about the money he paid to protect the last woman he lived. The parking bit felt like cheap shot to me, but maybe that happened, I wasn’t there. Cho’s insights were poignant and real, as were all of the other heartfelt revelations expressed.
