Honestly? 3 stars on a literary level, but the book reminded me so much of the campy horror books & movies I loved in the 80s that I'm rounding up for sheer entertainment. If haunted dolls, bad driving, weird taxidermy, possessed little girls, dysfunctional siblings, some very graphic, gorey violence smells like sweet tea & Jesus to you, have at it.
NOTES:
1. I read the book, but I'm sure the audiobook would be awesome for a road trip!
2. This isn't as good as "FINAL GIRLS SUPPORT GROUP," which is his best novel & a must read for classic slasher fans; especially fans of: Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, and Silent Night, Deadly Night - all of which are heavily referenced. If you haven't seen the 1st four, go watch now. If you don't care for slashies, this book may not be for you.
