Not what you would expect from a spy thriller but increadibly good and thought out. The chemistry and relationships were done beautifully. I hate when netflix overly exaggerates the UK (moreso England) in shows but this felt right. I even enjoyed the christmas undertones suprisingly. I also loved seeing Ben Wishaw (as literally a gay man) in such a lovely, moving natural-feeling role. It has a age rating for a reason, if you don't want to see sex then look at it. If all you can fixate on iis the idea of men shagging then perhaps you need to revevaluate your life.

Is it the best film I have ever seen? No. Is it half as bad as some of these reviews made it out to be? Also no. Yes the plot could of been more cohesive and the ending felt anticlimactic (should of included more James Acaster) but it was lighthearted and a genuinely nice watch. Its a good family film not a crticicaly aclaimed masterpiece, so enjoy it for what it is. SPOILERS The so called 'wokeness' the low star reviews seem to bang on about is practicaly non existent. No agenda is being pushed on anyone. No one kissed and nothing came of it. I just think people are allergic to non-conventional female protagonists.

I am someone who has forever been in love with jane austin novels, and persuasion has always been my faviourite, so I was interested to see this adaptation. I am always a little sceptical of the transition from 19th century novel to modern adaptation, but from the get go I was sold. In a way I would describe it as very similar to the Emma 2020 film but I did really enjoy Dakota Johnson's portayal of Anne from the get go. Overall I would highly recommend the film, as a nice casual watch. Also there is the appearance of Mia McKenna-Bruce which was lovely to see as I grew watching the dumping ground.
