Show does not pretend to be something it's not. It's a guy who's been rejected countless times. As a result he decides he's been annoying and creepy enough; he gives the girl space and stops pursuing her. If it's your flavor of "rom com" then go for it.

The show had me all the way through season 6. The show took a serious "anti-man" swing. I am 3 episodes in and the show takes unnecessary steps to make every man look stupid, incompetent, or sexist. The show even goes as far as to use "wage gap", like the good Secretary wouldn't have research reports and aides to ensure that error wouldn't happen.
Long story short the writers took an educated, former CIA operative, force of a woman who had the president's ear for years and turns her into a shell of what the previous seasons built her up to be (along with great supporting characters as well).
- Also, future posters try to keep your posts spoiler free or write the word "SPOILERS" in your review please.
