Soul explores the concept of life's passion and passion to live in a very joyful way. However I feel that the main character did not get a chance to develop and resolve his disconnection with other people around him. The time frame is too short for it to happen and a lot of time the stoty focuses on finding a way for the main character to get back to his own body rather than exploring the main beautiful concept.

The animation style is really nice but the story is not pleasant. The choice of voice actor for the main character, Kun, is bad. His voice sounds years older than he actually is and really annoying. The kid has a bad temperament and the parents seem to let him be, not really teaching him anything during his development through out the film. The story line is repetitive and gets boring after a while.
