The game has a good story around the beginning to the part where he's working with the templars, after that everything went down from their. The story was good but the game experience is very centered around the pirate quest that's also present in black flag. While it was cool to get a chance to play through a templar's perspective, it was not fun spending my time with ship battles and spending hours on grinding for resources to upgrade Shay's ship just to have not enough power to take over the forts so that missions and required locations are more accessible. The game could have been better even for the time that it's released. Many missions are either boring to too frustrating since it's not one of those games where it guides you to what or where the objectives are if you understand what I mean. I'm not talking about the objectives but the trials it took to figure out what to do. I also didn't always enjoy dealing with the bosses because they automatically see you even when they're not actually looking in your direction and it's too complicated to take the out sometimes because of the force button sequences and their awkward temporary invincibility until they attack first. Video games are not supposed to feel like a chore, they're supposed to feel like an experience that makes you keep playing and this is not one of those games that's going to keep me going back. I will not replay this game ever again. Once again the story is alright but the overall experience is good in some areas and bad in most.
