Good normal timepass movie. One time viewing. S Woodley and JGL did good work. R Madden is so-so. Not sure why people are bashing this film so much - we've all watched too many movies and hardly any twists or turns are left to put into film. This is a decent average film. Lots of worse movies than this one out there these days.

Damn - this movie probably has one of the best casts in the history of the movies. It has Andy Garcia, Ben Affleck, Ray Liotta, Chris Pine, Joel Edgerton, Ryan Reynolds, Common, Alicia Keys, Taraji P Henson, Patrick St Esprit, Martin Henderson, Jason Bateman and more. It's a nice movie. Keeps you hooked. Decent storyline. Above average editing. Loads of action. Good pace. Has kick and style. I really liked it. Definitely more watchable than loads of action flicks out there, and definitely in the top 20% of all the action flicks i've watched. (and i have watched tons of action flicks) So put this movie on your watchlist and watch it soon, you won't regret it!

4 stars to this movie for it's haunting images and serving as a wake-up call. Although it lacks a coherent storyline and doesn't delve deeply into the character's or their motivations, but it deserves 4 stars for some haunting and deeply moving scenes. Especially the ones where the background score stops, they have a haunting stillness and poignance to them that will stay with you for long after. I left the cinema hall with many unanswered questions but i feel the director wanted to convey a certain point - about the futility and brutal ludicrousness of war - and that message gets delivered. 4.5 stars also for a superb cast - Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura and Jesse Plemons. Wagner Moura is one of the most likeable screen actors today. Jesse Plemons was kinda terrifying. (He'd make a fantastic Bond villain) Kirsten Dunst was really good, very moving , but i wish her character was a bit more fleshed out. Glad it's still in theatres - might watch it again!
