Euphoria was adapted from an Israeli TV series. The writing on the The Idol is a disaster, the direction as well, however, the cinematography is beautifully done. The Weeknd can't act, Depp might do well with a great director. The supporting cast give into rather one dimensional stereotypes. Sam Levinson's dad is Barry Levinson, the famous Hollywood writer and director - whose films have won 6 academy awards. Why is everyone focused on Nepo-baby Depp? I usually don't mind a big ego, but when he quipped "we're going to have the biggest show of the summer" at the press conference, it just got a bit much considering what I just watched. And does he care about WHY it would be?
