A friend gave me this book and I've had it a few months before deciding to read it. I didn't expect to live it but I was hooked after reading the first page. This book held my interest throughout. The "now" and "then" alternating chapters brought the story together and made you want to keep reading so you get the full picture! Reading about the wars made me realize just how precious all lives are! And how some things still haven't changed. I really loved this book.
