This book was mediocre at best. It was uninteresting and many times throughout reading it I was contemplating whether I should finish the book or not. Many of the situations in this book just don't seem plausible. The romance between jack and Libby was okay. They seemed to go from strangers to liking each other almost too fast. Considering what jack did to Libby and how she felt, if I was in that situation I wouldn't even look in jacks direction again, let alone develop feelings for him. Their feelings seemed like they almost came from nowhere, they didn't really have anything in common or even had many conversations before they started to have feelings for each other. This book wasn’t bad but it wasn’t as good as I had hoped. I know that Libby would have already had her confidence and break out of her shell without needing jack, and her character stayed the same throughout the book. The book doesn't really live up to its title, it's not like they met and they turned each others lives upside down.
Spoilers: the fact that Libby wore a bright purple bikini in the school hallways (and didn't get punished) absolutely appalled me and gave me second hand embarrassment the whole time. The fact that the only person jack recognized was Libby was completely unrealistic and felt like the only reason he has prosopagnosia was so that at the end of the book he would be able to "see" Libby. It felt completely unnecessary and felt like it took away from the book and his character. There were many other things in this book that gave me secondhand embarrassment and felt unrealistic.
