The show is great. Almost nothing similar to its source material except the names and magic thing lol. But this is a remake/reboot not a rerun so changes is inevitable. If you want something with the glitter and sparkles, then this is not for you. The target audience of this show is teens-young adults not children so don't expect some light storyline. This has a darker approach and it's great. I just hate that it's too short. The show could've a more interesting story if it's longer.
