An absolute pile. Frame after frame of pure disappointment. Crystalline drivel. Just a boring screenplay, script and premise. And not even that violent... I’ve seen way worse in much better movies. The DP and camera folks did a nice job but how many long bizarre shots can you string together before you just want a story. Phoenix blathering incoherently with a cam pushed into his face in almost every scene. Then there’s the hype. Jesus Christ. A good reminder that the hype was purchased and needed.
