I discovered Loren Eiseley at the age of 16. I immediately experienced a kinship with the writings of this remarkable man. I have read everything he has written up until his passing in 1977. He was an anthropologist with the heart and soul of a poet; a lover of lonely places, the stars, the bones left of those before us. In short, he inspired my own path, and as I approach the age of 70, he remains a pivotal figure who has left a deep impression on my life and the paths I have taken.
