Book was good but seriously there was ample opportunity to just tell someone and be removed from the home the next day. Seems at some point one of the kids did tell a school supervisor but recanted. To say you just want a guest being held hostage and tortured just so it’s not you is wow. I mean most serial killers find victims they aren’t close to so they don’t kill their family which is what happened. the guests had their car keys taken, had left but were found ( at the mall) were tortured and drugged so badly that they were too weak to even walk to go and hunted down again. Kids got to leave to go to school daily so it isn’t like mom could get away with that extensive abuse during the school year. The only excuse I heard was they still loved this monster and were even rendering her assistance when she was in prison. I’m sorry but she only lived to cause pain and destroy and use other people so how you can love someone who had no purpose in life other then to cause people misery is beyond me.
