Being very honest, I really don’t like the book. I am at page 123, but I can’t bring myself to continue, even though I rarely drop books. The characters are all interesting in their own way, but the conflict that they all have just annoys me. It is also very hard to tell if the person is having a flashback or if it is present, because this book has at least 30% of the book being flashbacks so far. Jesse just strikes me as a very negative person during the bike ride, and I think we all just collectively accepted that. Not to mention, even Lillian is ruining the vibes for the rest of the characters. I just feel sympathy for Cal and Matt, that is the entire thing. It is also quite notable the fact that this writer is very descriptive so much so that they happen to be dropping 5 pages of useless description that I don’t care about in the book! Look, I know that people really use description for symbolism and such, but these descriptions are pointless, and I don’t understand the need for such extraneous descriptions with more than 40% of the book being descriptive. Not gonna lie, there are some good parts, but some is little compared to the sadness that I am feeling reading this book. Never have I ever been this disappointed, because the plots were all set up correctly, but was executed very poorly. I am putting a 2 star to not completely change the reviews a lot, but I would definitely rate it 1 stars. 3/10
