I don't usually review anything, but this movie was SO bad, i looked through all the other bad reviews (that are accurate) and i just had to put my thoughts in:
I don't know much if anything about movie making, but you'd think with the budget they had that they'd LOOK at the shots they took and see all the problems.
Let me start with the actors: Alicia is beautiful and i don't doubt that she has potential, but good god this movie butchered her. If you put this movie on in the background while cooking or something, it'd just be an hour and 30 minutes of basic youtube scary movie music and Alicia's ear piercing, headache inducing screaming. Her character's whole 'thing' in this movie is having ptsd and giving off HUGE Karen vibes. Her character had about as much personality as a bag of white rice. As for James? His entire role was just saying "its ok" over and over for a few minutes and being dead silent the rest of the time. He could've been removed from many scenes and I wouldn't have even noticed. There's no depth or anything to his character. Seriously, if his character was a spice it'd be flour.
As I'm sure most of us disappointed or curious people can relate to, I LOVE shark movies and after recently watching 47 Meters Down I was suggested this dumpster fire. I waited the ENTIRE movie for something interesting to happen, for the plot to be established, for something scary, for sharks, or for any dialogue that isn't "its ok" or screaming. There were so many points in this film that could have went somewhere, but didn't. The horrible editing and inconsistencies made this movie laughable and disappointing. As others have mentioned, something that really irked me was towards the end where she falls into sand, stands up in waist deep water, and falls back into sand. Huh????? You can really tell how hard they tried to avoid and gloss over shark/water scenes, it looked like a professional camera was in someone's bathtub shaking violently with a very obvious toy shark while someone else squirted ketchup from the side. (I'm not joking, in a few scenes in the movie fake blood is thrown from the SIDES).
This movie would've been VERY impressive if done by some high-school kids, but c'mon. The disappointment I felt while watching this movie was immeasurable. I know my review is kind of harsh but stop me when I'm wrong 🤷♀️ Save yourself an hour and a half and watch something good.
