Regardless of what people say, this movie was amazing
First off
I believe this movie wasn't some "remake" of jokers origins but rather the origin itself, Joaquin's joker isnt the joker we know.
At the end of the movie we see Arthurs killer carving a smile into his face much like the beloved health ledgers joker. And my theory is he eventually becomes the joker everyone knows. Arthur is just how the character the joker started, and in the DC universe there is believed to be more than one joker as seen in "Batman and the three jokes".
And health is much smarter and psychotic than Joaquin's joker meaning that he's the more famous version i guess you could say.
But basically I think this was more of an overall origin as the ages for batman and this "new joker" add up better joker is said to be around 50 and batman 40 and arthur was about 40 and this new guy around 20 and then theres bruce who is probably a bit older now it just makes more sense for this guy to be the "new joker" or the famous joker we know later, and as for harley, she didn't love arthur, she loved the joker and maybe down the line she has the baby and names it, harleen quinzel, aka the harley we all know and love as we also know that harley and the joker have an age gap. Either that or lady gagas harley kind of falls in love with this new joker but that doesnt make a lOtt of sense.
But my point is this isnt supposed to be the typical joker origin. This is supposed to be something new and I love it, they conveyed so many painful emotions of what arthur went through and so muchh moree and just bc the musical aspect wasn't a hit doesn't mean it wasn't a great movie! And one last thing, Arthur isn't "weak" or "disgraceful" for being SA'd thats just wrong on everyone who said that. It was a hard scene to watch and it really shows how much it brought him back to his childhood and snapped him back into the real world.
