This one is a slowburn. Never before I’ve watched a slice-of-life kind of film with a sinister twist. Not my favorite type of film but definitely one to watch. The director, Jonathan Glazer does a brilliant job to portray family just like a normal family, thus, I cannot help but to ponder and reflect on my life. I am thinking about the freedom that has been passed on from one generation to another. I’m thinking about the freedom that is still absent in other parts of the world, as a result of war and geopolitical conflict today. This film reminds me not to take everything for granted & just find a little small act that contributes to peace.
Glazer and the production team took a brave stand to say what he had to say during the Oscar acceptance ceremony. Mad respect to Glazer. I cannot stop thinking or talking about the relevance of this film.
