I was not a Swiftie. Then the Eras Tour happened - to be honest, I have not been to a concert nor have watched the stream on Disney Plus). I would of course love to.
I’m not going to bore you with the details of how I’ve slowly turned into a staunch supporter of Taylor, here’s where I landed : she’s the GREATEST STORYTELLER of our digital age who wields her artistic, creative powers and fortune for good without being a pushover.
She knows how and when to take control while bringing together collaborative partners that she trusts will stay true to her vision. This delicate “super power” is something perhaps unique to Taylor and perhaps the English Monarchy.
Her lyrics, poetry and music are relatable to a wide audience - age, sex, economic status, language and time zones. And her flywheel keeps on growing and expanding. Perhaps because Taylor Swift the artist is evolving yet again right in front of her audience and her stage.
Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poets Department mega album for me is so brilliant - emotionally raw, yet she transformed these painfully searing poetic stories into lighthearted, easy to listen music. Sure, they’re not as “poppy” …though I don’t believe you can call this production country either. I’ve listened and re-listened to the album a few times now. I’m intrigued, drawn and magnetized by Taylor Swift the phenomenal multi-talented and award winning artist, songwriter, director, actor and lover. It’s not easy to hold the powers of the sun. ❤️
