There´s a lot of good things about this movie: It goes back to the first one in terms of plot and development. Lex Luthor is back, and yes it's the brilliant Gene Hackman. With him comes a nephew, wich shows the same type of briliantism in acting and comedy timming. Perry White - the newspaper's editor chief returns to it's iconic role still delivering is strong lines although visibler flare and skinny. We have more strong women on board - besides Lois Lane. Lacy it's the new Daily Planet Director. And for once, this one falls for adorable Clark. Christopher Reeve shows here as his former self - looking as young and fresh as in the first movie. One could see signs of aging on the 3rd superman´s movie and the actor was visibly more "puffy". So it's great to see super being it's first self. The movie version I've recently seen of Superman 4 was clearly faulty: lots of scenes were cut off - giving it obvious plot holes. But all together this movie has more dept into it. It starts with Clark back on his family farm - witch is always nice. Lois and superman go back for a solo flight... how sweet. So there's more given to the developing of the characters witch was what the previous movie didn't do. The down side is we have a vilan that cannot act. But that's not so bad. He is just not scary - witch is the problem, since we want a vilan to be exactly that. One does miss Zod - from the first movie. Terence Stamp made him a good to watch vilan.

I´ll give it 5 starts because it always entertained me. A though it to be creative, well done, loved the script and the characters interaction with each other. Loved the dead man on top of the tower, loved the isolated couple with the missing sheeps... It always entertains. What I don't like is since it became a sucess years after it's release, it more sparce to be shown on TV. And impossible to find by "other means" such as youtube. Unless you pay for it. With the death by murder of DVDS and previously the VHS, all you have left is pay-per-view. You can never OWN to see it as many times as you wish. So I still have my VHS tape taped on a VCR when it was shown on TV. I miss that :)
