Worlds better than the live action movie but still underperforms by its source material. The characters aren't fully themselves as their characteristics/personalities are watered down or lobotomized. The changes made are nonsensical e.g. koh the face stealer, the tunnels of omashu aside from a myriad of others including so much more inclusion of commander Zhao which was unnecessary especially since he has the same fate as the source material. Ozai and Azula when they weren't even present in book 1, only by name which was more build up than their unnecessary presence in this adaptation. Also why does Aang not practice waterbending? No build up between Aang and Katara? Just feels off and makes the adaptation look like a high end fan made project that misses the mark and also the point. Fairly decent on it's own, but nearly unbearable when comparing it to its animation counterpart. Strong start but had to force my self through the last 2 eps.
