Finally got some time to watch this and was very surprised. The animation and music choice is beautiful throughout the entire movie. The team did a great job with pacing as well, as I never felt like there were missing pieces to this specific storyline.
My main criticism is on the Backstory of the old Gods. The movie sprinkles lore here and there with a few flashbacks to Nezha's past, but it would've been great to get a little more depth with the antagonists' past. We are constantly told of Nezha's destructive nature, both past and present, but it doesn't always stick when it comes to those who oppose him.
Also, I watched this in the original (Mandarin) with subtitles, as the English voice over wasn't that great.
Overall, I really enjoyed this movie and actually watched it all the way through. It felt emotional with the right balance of action and storytelling. Again, would've loved more background on the antagonists, but it was still fine.. There are also 2 ending scenes to look out for after the credits.
