Unsettling and odd, I wasn’t sure if I adored it or hated it yet I have watched it four times trying to decipher my exact feelings on it. It is intriguing, literate imaginative & appalling all at once. Each time I watch, I find myself stranded on another sub plot, & needing to watch it just one more time to search for clues… So anything that captivates me so completely def earns five stars. Brilliant performances esp by William Dafoe. I would watch a prequel about his characte’rs backstory, esp his father. And Emma Stone earned that Oscar. She’s come a long way since Easy A. Stories contortioned into substories, all tied delicately together… I anticipate some inspired fan fiction coming from this movie in the future.
