I really like this movie. I’m Chinese American and would like to share a few thoughts. First of all, the English title “My People, My Country” is not quite the same as the Chinese title, 我和我的祖国, which means “me and my motherland” (the land of my ancestors). You may think I’m splitting hairs, but there’s a difference between the two titles. The Chinese title emphasizes a relationship between individuals and country. This is what this movie is about—people working together and helping others. When people do these things, the whole country prospers. These are universal truths, regardless of where we live or what nationality we are. We grow and improve ourselves when we do things together. We are inspired by those who have lived before us and our dreams of where we want our children to go. Together, we can reach the stars. 我特别喜欢这部电影。这部电影有七个故事。各故事发生了在中国的历史。七位导演分别取材新中国成立70周年以来，祖国经历的无数个历史性经典瞬间。这部电影讲述了普通人与国家之间息息相关密不可分的动人故事。那些故事都关于人一起工作，帮别人。做那事的时候，整个国家就会兴旺发达起来。我觉得很多外国人只看到发达的中国武器，这是所谓的“国家主义”。但是我不同意这样的看法。国家强大很重要，但是人心更重要。人不要忘本，记住我们都是大家庭的一分子。我觉得这是我和我的祖国的意义。
