I’ve only just watched this movie. Infact, due to being in hospital all of 2019, it had never been on my radar! Immediately after it ended, I googled sequel and am imcredibly disappointed there won’t be one/any🤷‍♀️ Yeah, I get it was overlong, a little disjointed, the character chemistries not perfect, the comedy not laugh out loud, the gore a little too much for some, the baddie’s end maybe a little too uncomfortable (and watching his tyranny at this moment in history hits very close to the bone). But for all it’s failings - I LOVED IT! Loved the premise, loved the ‘Scream’ (long) opener steal, loved all of the incredible and inventive action sequences, loved the characters, loved the actors playing those characters - esp the supremely charismatic and reliable Ryan Reynolds, the delicious Ben Hardy and ‘Mr Lincoln Lawyer’ before we knew him as that! Apparently it’s the 4th most successful Netflix own movie. But the makers weren’t happy with it creatively speaking (and the critics panned it!). Me - well I was looking forward to 6 Underground 2 before the end of No 1 (and only). In a world of unimaginative, unoriginal movie making, I for one am gutted we won’t get to know more about no’s 1 to 7 (minus 6!). Shame.
