It had an interesting premise but it was incredibly slow and the plot dragged on. In my opinion, the climax felt rushed and the ending was forced. I hate to say this but watching the movie was a big waste of time.

This film is beautiful and strangely insufficient. It all seemed to be happening as they experienced it. As if the viewer is really there. My only issue is that this is barely about Ma Rainey and mostly about Levee. The acting is great, amazing even! Casting is also good! Hair and make-up, as well as the costume design... absolutely phenomenal!
