Noone who’s ever read the books could cast this actor as Derfel, or Arthur for that matter. You can’t just swerve the entire premise of the books and the characters and badge it The Winter King. I’ve enjoyed countless adaptations of books I’ve loved, but The Wimpy King is a bonkers head-on crash between Game of Thrones and Bridgerton in which nothing good survives.
