This movie deserves one star, I give it 2 because the actors and cast are fantastic. The beginning is good, interesting, plot makes sense and you want to follow and see what happens next. Will they catch the terrorist? What is he doing? Carrie Ann Moss is very credible as an FBI Agent and, of course, Samuel L. Jackson hits a home run. Then, about 75% into the movie, it takes the on-ramp to Crazyville Expressway and never comes back. It was like the writers and director quit all of a sudden and they had to finish the film anyway. They had the cast, most of the movie was good and then BAM! The ending made no sense whatsoever. I don't recommend it, sorry.

I give this 5 stars despite my misgivings because Denzel could sit next to a box of crackers for 2 hours and win an Oscar. The casting support of Rami Malek and Jared Leto keep the film interesting and keep you wondering what will happen next. Really good suspenseful story line and I like how Denzel and Rami team up. The ending sucks. It was like the writers and director quit suddenly, and they had to cobble something up to get the movie finished. People go to movies to be entertained. Movies have a beginning, middle, and end. This ending detracted from the fantastic dialogue and character building. I recommend it but the ending was a total fail.

Joaquin Phonix hit it out of the park. Watching his slow descent into Joker is reminicent of Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver. I like that this film tells a story; not just dipping him into a toxic chemical vat and viola we have Joker. Jaoquin brilliantly and carefully contructs this character. He better get an Oscar Nomination. The cinematography really pulls you in. Brilliant film!
