Sadly as a Robert Downey fan I hoped that this film would live up to the pre release hype. It didnt by a long mile.
The "human" acting apart from Michael Sheens ott Dr Mudfly was risable, the storyline paper thin and even the CGI felt clunky and old fashioned and why did RD have what sounded like an attrocious Welsh accent?
I know that this is solidly in the "kids film" category and as an adult I may be missing something, but even the kids at the screening I was at were far from impressed as I heard a "boring" a "dull" and and at least one "rubbish" from the little darlings.
Watching this film is like having what looks like a lovely roast dinner in front of you, only to find the meat is tough, the spuds are cold and the gravy has massive lumps in it.
This film will make its money back and more, but it has NONE of the magic of the Rex Harrison film, nor ANY of the humour of the first Eddie Murphy take on the story.... 2/10
