I am really disappointed in the sheer gaslighting that is happening from the directors, writers, actors and Disney as a whole. I am so, so, so tired of the deflecting from horrible writing, acting, lack of research and respect for the fandom with the typical labels of someone being homophobic, racist, sexist, etc if you have honest criticism. I am by definition all of those things within the most common frames of intersectionality. I am a Queer, Hispanic, Brown Woman who is a huge fan of Star Wars and I can confidently say this is by far the absolute WORST thing Star Wars has put out ever. point blank. Who are they making these shows for? This is a serious question? I don't understand why you would ISOLATE your fanbase and the very people who give life to these stories and this world? to prove a point? to inflate a personal ego? it is honestly disgusting what they are doing to the world of Star Wars and honestly what most corporations are doing in general when it comes to adaptations from the source material. We have seen this, TIME AND TIME AGAIN. From The Rings of Power, to the Witcher, etc. and the reason they FAILED was because they thought it was a bright idea to bring in writers and directors who are not FANS of the source material they are adapting and think that it is their right to write a completely different story, because they lack the sheer talent and vision to come up with stuff on their own. It is embarrassing. You know why the Fallout show, House of the Dragon, The Last of Us, One Piece shows worked and we're WIDELY LOVED by the public? because they we're TRUE to the source material and brought in actual fans and lovers of the source material to do the adaptation. It is a VERY simple formula that I have no idea why it keeps failing for most of Hollywood. The Acolyte had horrible acting and casting, they couldn't even get two real life twin girls to play Mae and Osha when they were kids even though they have an 180 Million Dollar budget. They used Carrie Ann-Moss as a big selling point in the trailer to literally kill her off in the first 5 minutes of the show. There is no character building, they made Mae the most boring and extreme child villain I have ever seen. Let's not even talk about "The Power of One, the Power of Two, the Power of MANYYYY" scene. The most cringe cheesy thing I have EVER seen. Let's not talk about how somehow the force created these twins and it fundamentally goes against Anakin's story which is the FOUNDATIONS of star wars. The sith lord? being the most OBVIOUS person ever? like I can go on and on, but I am so sick of Disney doing this to such a loved fandom and telling the fans who MADE SW what it is today to go F%&K themselves. It is such a slap in the face to us and the work that George put it in to create such a universe. Everyone needs to rally together and swear off these shows and anything SW because that is the ONLY chance we got for them to stop creating this absolute trash. I have been a fan since I was a child (I'm almost 33) this is absolutely unacceptable.
