A riveting 83 minutes that blended the beauty and wonder of giraffes with the contributions and struggles of Anne Innis Dagg. It was hard to watch this passionate zoologist lose her university teaching tenure simply because of gender. Her fidelity to her science and her joy in pursuing it comes through every minute of this uplifting film. Favorite feminist moment: when she tells her fiance if he really wants to marry her, he will wait while she goes to Africa to work with giraffes in 1956! Women didn't do that. I know. I was there. Favorite personal moment: seeing a giraffe lean down to her face that could not stop smiling.
Another woman who loves giraffes gives this 5 stars and a shout out to her sister Jude who took her to see it!
