The first season of True Detectives was so artfully crafted it kept us glued to the screen. We ended up bring watching because this is an emotionally compelling film. It is as much about who these men are and how they deal with personal demons as it is about solving a crime. The writing and dialog are as poetic as the T Bone Burnett soundtrack. Haunting. Visually stunning. The acting is outstanding by the entire cast with the key focus on the partners. Cohle sums it up when he tells Hart, "you are nothing without me." We were drained emotionally at the season finale. And yet, we didn't want it to end. Cohle and Hart live in my head, accompanied by T Bone playing in the background. If you enjoy compelling art, you will enjoy True Detectives. .
