Pokémon mystery dungeon has always been a special series to me ever since it’s release. This newest installment really takes the game back to it roots and does a pretty good job of doing so! The changes to the dojo and the iq system actually make the game easier to understand while also making the game trickier in the long run. I do have to say, as pretty as the new art style is, to me it really kills that feeling the old games had, and I do miss that. The game play though is on point and I love how I can make teams consisting of Pokémon other than my mains to tackle missions. In past games you could only do that after you beat the game. Naturally you still have to bring your mains on story missions. I also really like the shortcut they added from your house to the mission board. It was a great quality of life change. All in all, if you liked the original, you will like this game. The gameplay is solid, the story is good, characters as fun and interesting as ever. It’s a great game to play to just kill some time!
