Where do I begin with Ratatoing? I can start off by saying, this was truly one of those movies that I walked away and could not stop thinking about what I had just watched, and the impact it would have on my life. The truly inspiring tail (pun) of Marcell Toing was one that will forever be in my brain. The next level animation style really showed the future of ultra realistic animation we will be facing in this century. From the highly detailed textures on the rat fur, to even the movements of the rodent characters, especially that of Carol. If I were to simply zone out for a split second I would feel as though I truly was living in the world of Ratatoing. I would like to give a special mention to Marcos Hirsh for the simply, what I can only describe as, revolutionary screenwriting. The character development throughout Ratatoing is like the development from child to adult, phenomenal. The delivery of the lines from each of these lovable rats comes across as extremely realistic and natural, that of a real life, unscripted, conversation. In summary, the ground-breaking story of Ratatoing, with its revolutionary exploration into controversial and undiscussed topics such as a female rat spy will truly have a profound impact on this century. The extreme animation style of ultra realism is paving the way for great animated movies to see the light. I hope that this, and other greats such as What's up, Little Bee and The Frog Prince help Vídeo Brinquedo with a prosperous career, and helping boost their name to the number 1 spot among other animation companies.
