I hate-watched it. Awful, simply awful. The plot was ludicrous, the acting was subpar for the most part, and the ending was ridiculous, leaving one with the impression there might be another season. There was a supernatural element that made no sense whatsoever.

Great cast, great performances, sharp dialogue, lots of moral ambiguities, and Bogart’s last film.

For fans of old Hollywood noir, you would likely enjoy. Jon’s Hawkes is an outstanding actor; others in the cast hold their own. Snappy patter, long, long takes, tons of atmosphere.
