This is a timely (on many levels), disturbing and hopeful tale of pre, during and post Nazi Austria. The writing is evocative as one imagines life in the Vienna, Paris and elsewhere. The characters seem so real because some are not a figment of the author's imagination. A rich account of love, betrayal, despair and aspiration.
