The series soared except for some pointless turbulence in Parts 7 and 8. Needed a 10th episode to tell untold stories and wrap up loose ends, but the Covid crunch left Masters of the Air a solid third place in the Spielberg/Hanks WWII trilogy. Showrunner Gary Goetzman says this is the last one, bur the team still hasn't covered the Navy -- they've done the Army (Band Of Brothers), Marines (The Pacific) and the Air Corps (Masters Of The Air). But WWII wouldn't have been won without the US Navy, and there are so many great stories to tell in a fourth miniseries at sea. So Hanks, Spielberg (and Goetzmam), get to work and Anchors Aweigh! ⚓️

A wonderful "stumbled-upon-it" 1942 flick from Britain's Ealing Studios that was so surprisingly fun to watch that I watched it three times in a row last night. Everone has seen another 1942 classic "Casablanca" from Hollywood's Golden Age -- but this neglected popcorn movie is so very good on different levels ... when you have a handful of remote English villagers banding together to take on a unit of Nazi paratroopers masquerading as Royal Engineers at the fictional "Battle of Bramley End." Films today should be made as well as this practically unknown gem that was made 80 years ago by Argentinian director Alberto Cavalcanti. I share the opinions of earlier reviewers Norm Babbitt, Jayne Rhodes, Terry Potter, Anthony Calleja and Karen Wills ... Please watch it if you can find it anywhere: "Went The Day Well?" (1942). You'll be glad that you did!
