I was reluctant to watch this movie because of the social media hype; and although, I have great respect for Tyler Perry’s work ethic and success, particularly after seeing his documentary “Maxine’s Baby”, I’m not a huge fan of the Madea Movie franchise. In my opinion, there are only two movies I believe were well written and directed which includes ‘The Family That Prays Together’ and ‘The Jazzman’s Blues’. Regardless, I decided to give this movie a try to understand what it was about. After wasting two entire hours watching it, the plot twist made no sense at all. The concept wasn’t fully developed and there were too many ideas that didn’t aligned to a realistic climax. There was a lot of hyper-sexuality for the sake of selling sex as a fantasy, over dominance against women and their intelligence, and random scenes that attempted to thread things together, but fell short. Regrettably, I would not recommend this movie, unless you are interested in critiquing it. I was sorely disappointed.
