Do yourself a favour and go watch Aircrash Investigations instead, if you're keen to watch an aviation-disaster show.
MH370 is one of those mysteries that hurt a lot of people: as we see throughout this series, the families of those onboard the plane are still grieving, and still hoping for some kind of closure or something that could help them move on, even if it's acceptance of the fate of the aircraft and its passengers. This documentary irresponsibly paints these family members either as grieving individuals or as conspiracy theorists. It's total BS and a horrific waste of Netflix's money.
It's also extremely frustrating to see how a story about a South-East Asian flight, lost in South-East Asia, with a primarily Asian population onboard is being narrated using French, Australian and American voices, with the Asian voices primarily being showcased either as the hapless grieving community, or through media snippets. The few instances of Malaysian authorities being given airtime are used almost as a foil against strange loose threads being pulled from afar by people who, by the sound of it, have never even visited Asia and certainly not for a fact-finding trip about MH370. Where are the aviation experts (NOT journalists)? Where are the pilots, the Malaysian Airlines officials, the lead investigators? And, importantly, if none of those people wanted to appear on this show, it should never have been made. This should not be a platform for clickbait, and certainly will be bringing up fresh conspiracy theories, and once again opening scabs that are only now starting to heal for everyone who was directly involved from the family members to those who were actually involved in understanding whatever data is actually available.
Why do I keep trusting Netflix's documentary abilities?! Have GOT to find a better documentary platform. Netflix is increasingly less informative and more dramatic. Stick with the actual fiction Netflix!
