A LOT of Bollywood plots were implanted in the movie, thus it suffers a complete lack of parallelism and coordination between "what happened" and "what's going on". They tried to put in a tremendous amount of elements within whatever time they were given; be it the rushed suspense, or the unintriguing flashbacks, (TOO MANY EXPENSIVE) cars rolling over city highways or big numbers of remixed evergreen songs, it was almost too chaotic and seemed like the directors were trying to tie a thousand different course of events with a single thread.
Which made the interval a wasted opportunity.
Plot wise- I regret to admit that the sheer authenticity was nowhere to be found. But certain elements in the movie very eloquently showcased our beautiful BEAUTIFUL culture in the first half of the film and there is definitely no fault to point out there. Besides the very few winning hallmarks of this movie, Adil Hussain, Arun Hazarika and few others successfully maintained their acting grounds and gravity- could in no way broaden them, just maintained as soulfully as they used to priorly.
There is so much more for our Industry to work, focus and improve on, because in spite of the best talents working, the film still had a lacking sense of collaboration primarily because it tried to look modern, ethnic, dramatic, lavish all at the same go.
But the fun part is- you get to enjoy the greatest Assamese hits roaring over the theatre speakers through Zubeen da's voice, and this is more than a stellar and momentous experience for whoever has been a fan of both 90's and ZG (lets say WE ALL ARE!!).
For the grinding efforts on the cinematic experience by the team and an honored tribute to Nipon Goswami Sir, I give a 2 star💫
