This movie is an underrated masterpiece. I watched it and was surprised by how much The Ring basically stole from this movie. I won't spoil it, but half of the plot is basically the same. This movie is all about atmosphere and it was absolutely terrifying and terribly sad at the same time. Best ghost story I've ever seen. George C. Scott was excellent as always. You don't think about him as a horror movie actor, but in this and Exorcist III, he gave two of the best performances in horror history. Zero fat.
