Biscuit Brackets

(Spoiler free)- Suspenseful, heartfelt, the stakes are so high. I wasn’t going to watch it cus I was like “aliens?” but it blew me away The characters are grounded and relatable, and you know exactly what will happen to them if they mess up, which is horrifying I love horror movies but I haven’t been actually scared since I was a kid, and this brought me back. There are moments of realization that aren’t forced on you, it happens at your pace. It’s a real experience There’s things to pick at with this movie, but it provoked real emotions that movies rarely do It’s not as tight nit as “get out” or “us” but once I let go of my expectations, I was completely immersed. Had to cover my mouth twice, which I’ve never experienced The more I think about it, the more I realize I preferred the looser feel. With Us, the whole time I was thinking, “this script is so brilliant” but with Nope I never thought about the behind the scenes, just “I’m so scared for these characters!” Deeply disturbing and amazing 4 1/2 stars
