Shutter island is a damn masterpiece! I remember when i was a kid, my father used to tell me stories about a secret island where mad scientists (funded by a secret society) conducted different experiments on humans. The stories were basically reviews and his take on the espionage novels he used to read back in the day. This movie pretty much portrays the same story. In fact takes it up a notch and adds a lot of spice to it. Also it successfully retains the original psycho/horror genre of a typical experimental island. However, it brings back some memories. It makes me understand how an experimental, insane island can look like. Helps me paint a picture of the stories my father used to tell me. Also, same like inception, the ending was baffling lol. I still wonder whether Leonardo was playing it all along. And he preferred his final outcome [[avoiding the spoilers]] cuz he knew what’s coming is inevitable. In the end he wanted to be a hero. P.S. Leonardo Di Caprio… What a godamn actor. Guy’s a gem he should definitely work on other films. He knows acting.
